Kybalion – The Kybalion is a book on Hermetic philosophy from ancient Egypt and Greece. In ancient times, there was a collection of basic hermetic teachings that were passed on from teacher to student. This compendium was known as the “Kybalion”, which could only represent partial aspects of Hermetism, as it was intended for public consumption. The exact meaning of the word “Kybalion” was lost centuries ago. These teachings and implications are known to many scholars to whom they have been handed down over the centuries.
The first known written exposition of these teachings appeared in 1908 under the title “Kybalion,” published in Chicago. The authors of this book are not named. It only refers to three initiates as its authors. Hermes Trismegistus is mentioned in various sources as the founder.
