The foundation of healing through Reiki is based on the idea that each person is infused with a divine, loving and healing life energy. This energy is flowing according to the acceptance of the Reiki teachings by a Reiki Master, who has previously purchased Reiki initiations in weekend seminars and then acts as a channel for healing energies.
The term Reiki can be translated as universal life energy or as spiritual power. Mikao Usui, a Christian monk who lived in a monastic school in Kyoto, Japan, is considered the founder of Reiki. On the mountain near Kyoto Mikao Usui is said to have had an enlightenment experience where the Reiki power was revealed to him. Usui initiated numerous students into Reiki until his death in 1926. Chujiro Hayashi, who became his successor, founded a Reiki clinic in Tokyo. It was Hawayo Takata, a Hawaiian of Japanese origin, who first brought Reiki to the Western world. Hawayo Takata was suffering from lung disease and did not want to go to a normal hospital, but went to Dr. Hayashi’s Reiki clinic. There she is said to have been completely cured after 4 months by the use of Reiki. She became a Reiki Master herself and initiated others as Reiki Masters.
In esotericism and in the New Age movement Reiki is very well known and is sold as a spiritual path. The thesis is spread that Reiki should only work if the student has been initiated by a Reiki Master before. The Reiki Master, no matter what level, places his hands on the practitioner and transmits the healing energies to the person seeking help. It is said that Hawayo Takata allegedly charged her students $10,000 for Reiki training, i.e. for initiations. She argued that whoever did not ask for this amount for training, did not practice Usui-Reiki.
In Reiki a thesis is spread which says that for a treatment an energetic balance should be demanded, because otherwise negative karma would be built up. All this should make you think about whether this can be true spirituality/esotericism or rather the abuse of spirituality in favour of profiteering, self-interest and abuse of power.
True initiation can never and will never be sold. Charlatans, who want to make profit from the misery of their fellow men, can be found in heaps at esotericism fairs and seminar catalogues. In contrast, the Hermetic Academy preserves and teaches the ageless wisdom. It teaches a proven, authentic, spiritual path that leads safely to the highest levels of awakening. This path includes the healing of soul, mind and body. Step by step, the student is given tools to master his own life, to refine his personality and to become a true helper for his fellow human beings.
Immature personalities, who are only interested in the quick use of magic formulas, initiations and benefits for themselves, usually give up very quickly. An ethical training is given first, before the student is given further tools. Once a certain purification of the personality has taken place, the student is allowed to go one step further. Here there are no quick initiations, this is for the protection of the student and the protection of his fellow men.
The hermetic initiation is a gradual and ritual path. It cannot be forced, requested or bought. Candidates are strictly tested and must meet certain requirements before they are allowed to follow a true initiatory path. The hermetic path of initiation explores the secrets of creation and is designed for the realisation and experience of self-knowledge.
